1. What’s the difference between a psychologist and a psychiatrist?
A psychiatrist holds a medical degree. This person is a physician and able to prescribe medications. A psychologist is a mental health professional who holds a doctorate degree and specializes in behavioral and mental health. A psychologist does “talk therapy” and does not have the authority to prescribe medications.
I am a Psychologist.
2. How do I know if I really need counseling or psychotherapy?
If you are searching the web and asking questions, more than likely you have some concerns at this time. Someone may have noticed differences in you and made a comment. Or you may wonder why you seem to be "going in circles." Call me and we can briefly discuss your specific situation and whether therapy is what you may need at this time.
3. How do I make an appointment?
Call: 336-896-0700 or email: email@example.com
4. Do you accept my insurance?
First call, the customer service number on your insurance card to verify what services you may receive. I am on different panels. If I am not on a panel, there is a possibility that I may be able to apply to join a panel if individuals with that insurance request my services.
5. What makes "Dr. Candi" different?
I go on this journey with you. While we are in session, we work in collaboration to seek and develop ways for positive change. Our objective is to help you feel empowered and better understand life's circumstances.
All clinicians and clients are not meant to work together. There are various styles of therapy and approaches used. If we are not a good fit, I will encourage transition to someone who may better meet your needs and am willing to provide referrals to begin the process so that you are not feeling lost and uncertain about yet another issue.
